Securing Your Account: Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

We strongly recommend enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). This adds an extra layer of security by requiring a one-time code in addition to your password when logging in.

What is Two-Factor Authentication?

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a security method that requires two steps to access your account:

1. Something you know: your password
   
   
2. Something you have: a unique code generated by an authentication app on your phone
   
   

Even if someone obtains your password, they cannot access your account without this second factor.

Step-by-Step: How to Enable 2FA

Step 1: Go to Security Settings

1. Log in to your Checky Pro dashboard.
   
   
2. Click on your account (bottom left corner).
   
   
3. Select Account Settings.
   
   
4. Navigate to the Security tab.
   
   

Step 2: Enable Two-Factor Authentication

1. Click Enable 2FA.
   
   
2. A QR code will appear on your screen.
   
   

Important: Save the backup recovery code provided. This allows you to regain access if you lose your device.

Step 3: Use an Authenticator App

If you do not already have one, download an authentication app such as:

• Google Authenticator
  
  
• Authy
  
  
• Microsoft Authenticator
  
  

1. Open the app and scan the QR code shown on your Checky Pro dashboard.
   
   
2. The app will generate a 6-digit verification code.
   
   

Step 4: Confirm Setup

1. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app into the confirmation field.
   
   
2. Click Confirm to complete the setup.
   
   

Two-Factor Authentication will now be active on your account.

Logging In with 2FA

When logging in, after entering your email and password, you will be asked to provide the 6-digit code from your authenticator app. This code refreshes automatically every 30 seconds to maintain security.

Recovery Options

If you lose access to your device or authenticator app, use your saved backup recovery code to regain access.
